After sleeping in, we read books and slowly packed up. We along a the Newton Druid scenic byway. We saw a sign for a hike called Big Tree and did it. We saw a giant tree and even more giant trees. I got to climb in the middle of trees. We drove to Trinidad to have lunch at the Deli since all other restaurants were so crowded on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We drove to our campsite and had s'mores which were very good, even though we didn't have graham crackers.

John Steinbeck wrote a book called, "Travels With Charley". In it, he said he thought Charley would find peeing on a giant tree (dog)life changing. But Charley wouldn't pee on the tree; perhaps it didn't register as a "tree" :)
