Day 11: Caribou Targhee, ID to Yellowstone, WY July 10, 2017

We packed up the camp and drove over to the Upper Mesa Falls and did the short hike with Leia. We saw the waterfalls, which were beautiful. The falls had some rainbows shining in the mist. We drove to West Yellowstone and bought groceries for camping. We stopped in many creeks to jump in with Leia. She's had lots of fun swimming. We even saw an eagle in the tree. We arrived at Madison Campground and set up camp and relaxed in the hammock. In the early evening, we took the drive around the whole lake loop. We stopped at Dragon's Mouth and Mud Volcano to see the geysers. They were amazing.  We stopped a lot to see bison. They were magnificent!! We saw some bull elk on the side of the road grazing. We stopped at a picnic area and cooked dinner along a river near Hayden Valley. We drove back to camp and went to sleep.

  1. Isn't it an amazing place?
We were there in '88. The boys called Bill "Old Fumerole": you can guess why :)

  2. My friend and I saw Old Faithful and Yellowstone Park right after it had snowed - what a beautiful sight. Yellowstone Falls was particularly hypnotic - so peaceful until that long, noisy drop over the top.

    1. I've been here in the winter too, equally gorgeous, but so incredibly different.
