Day 19: Dickinson, ND to Billings, MT, July 18, 2017

Hike to the top of the hill at Theodore Roosevelt National Park!

We did the last load of laundry and went to eat breakfast at the Country Rose Café. I had a great caramel roll, which is like a cinnamon roll with caramel instead of cinnamon. We drove to the Teddy Roosevelt National Park and took a loop drive. We saw lots of prairie dogs! Some even squeaked. We then took a short hike to the top of mountain. We got out at Cottonwood Campground and swam in the river. The park was beautiful!! We drove to the town of Beach, ND and had lunch and watched the train lights go on, but nothing came by. We walked over to the Prairie Fire Pottery Shop and Christmas shopped; because it's never too early!! We went to the local Thrift Shop in town and saw the kittens that were advertised at the Café. They were free and so so cute so we almost adopted one. We also got some new pajama pants. We drove the fast highway to Billings ate dinner at Wild Ginger, which had excellent sushi. We got to the hotel and wrote the blog. Leia is a tired dog, she has so many dreams!!

The Caramel Roll at Country Rose Café. Need to fill up before a full day of adventure.
Second course was scrambled eggs and an English Muffin. I shared with Leia!!

More from TRNP- The sweet little Prairie dogs!! Cuteness overload!!

View out at the North Dakota Badlands.

Nature calls in the river. Shallow, but refreshing!!

The adorably cute small town of Beach, ND. The freeway hasn't killed all the small towns!!
Mommy was so happy that we spent most of the day here!

Some of the amazing designs at Prairie Fire Pottery!!

One of the adorable kittens in the MnM Thrift Shop.

Steinbeck stayed here during his writing of Travels with Charley.
If only I could turn this blog into a book. One day!!

Leia is one tired dog!!
Gone are the days of sleeping 18 hours a day and any sense of alone time!!

  1. OMG!
Travels with Charlie is, I admit, a little dated but I still love it. (Although with present admin, time, and the river), it may again be much too relevant.
It was one of my favorite books, and still is.
Don't tell Paul or Kris, but speaking of "nature calls", Kris had one in her wet suit figuring they'd have lots of time and water when the dive master called every one into the boat.
She said the wet suit was never the same:)
    SO GLAD you're having fun:)
    Re kitties: ACHOO !!!!!!!
